Today we tried out a google app called jam board. We used this platform to give feedback about 'Free Writing Friday'. We think that this is going to be a great way for us to all share our ideas in a fun and creative way.
Kia Ora. Welcome to our class blog. We are a Year 3 & 4 class at Paparore School which is situated in the Far North.

Promethean Screen Share
Our class has discovered Promethean Screen Share. After our Free Writing Session the students all wanted to share their writing on our screen. It was fabulous to see the students being so enthusiastic to share their writing. We are looking forward to sharing more of our learning with each other!

May Free Writing Friday
We have been doing FREE WRITING FRIDAY as a group for the past 2 weeks during our 9am catch up. Last week we had 16 keen writers and this morning we had 11! It is amazing how much writing can be achieved in a 20 minute writing session.
Our writing focus is on FREE WRITING which means we can write about anything at all! We know that re-crafting and editing is important however this session is all about sharing our thoughts and ideas in our writing without worrying about mistakes. We can re-craft and edit at a later date.
We hope you enjoy reading our wonderful free writing!

Free Writing Friday
Every Friday the students take part in 'Free Writing Friday' which is the time of the week when the students can write about anything that they like. They are motivated and engaged in this type of writing as having choice can make a huge difference to engagement levels.
Check out this video of the students during one of these sessions:
The students get ideas for their writing from each other and their interests plus they can use the following sites for inspiration too:
We also have a selection of Story Cards and The Game of Awesome Cards in class to use too!
