Free Writing Friday

Every Friday the students take part in 'Free Writing Friday' which is the time of the week when the students can write about anything that they like. They are motivated and engaged in this type of writing as having choice can make a huge difference to engagement levels.

Check out this video of the students during one of these sessions:

The students get ideas for their writing from each other and their interests plus they can use the following sites for inspiration too:

We also have a selection of Story Cards and The Game of Awesome Cards in class to use too!

Duffy Theatre - Magic Bricks

Duffy is so excited to stay with his cousin Sam for the school holidays but when he gets there he is so disappointed. Sam is addicted to gaming and doesn't want to spend time with Duffy! When Duffy puts on his nana's glasses and does the 'dumpling' things get a little crazy!

We were so lucky to have a visit from Duffy Theatre today. The show was performed with so much enthusiasm and energy. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the performance and the message that was delivered. Read for enjoyment, read to succeed, read, read, READ!!!

The students are retelling the story in their own words so look forward to those on their blogs next week.
