We all enjoy the Kapa Haka sessions with Papa Chris and Whaea Rani each Tuesday. The students have been learning waiata and haka.

Getting Energised with Garth

The students had a fantastic session with Garth last Friday. They were led through lots of fun activities using the jumping sacks, noughts and crosses with hula hoops and some crazy animal moves.

Support Staff Appreciation Alert - Thank you Yvette

We are very lucky to have a lovely teacher aide in our classroom called Yvette. 

She helps in our class and in lots of different ways in our school, whether it is inside or outside the classroom. We love having Yvette as part of Te Manga and we want to wish her a 'Happy Support Staff' Day - enjoy your yummy lunch with our other awesome support staff.

Why is reading so important?

The David Waliams and Roald Dahl reading groups had a sharing session today all about the importance of reading. They each shared their ideas and gave examples of how they have been able to use reading in their everyday lives. Check out their suggestions and their super enthusiastic reading rocket attitudes.

Tapawha - Adding Tidy Numbers

Tapawha have been working hard in their math sessions to make number bonds to 10, number bonds to 100 and to add tidy numbers. Click on this link to check out our learning on our class site

Today the group discussed why math is so important in our everyday lives, then they had to prove their understanding of adding tidy numbers. They were able to add 2 digit tidy numbers and explain their strategy. Most of the group used counting on in 10's from the highest number to solve each equation. They were very pleased with themselves.

The students were very excited to be moving onto learning the place value strategy next!

Term 2 Week 8 - Mathletics Legends

Last week, seven of our students made the top 10 in the school for Mathletics. 

Congratulations to 1st Reo [2 232 points], 2nd Chase B, 3rd Edmon, 4th Zana, 5th Tuva-Lisa, 6th Jamie, and 10th Hemi.

Well done to Hemi and Edmon for being the top of the class this week!

Term 2 Certificates - CONGRATULATIONS

The class were happy to have virtual reading certificates and class certificates over the lockdown but it has been great to be back at school where they could collect the real thing. Congratulations! Unfortunately we weren't able to take a photo of everyone who has got their certificates so far but you can see from these photos the students are very happy!!!
