Wacky Hair Day to support Mrs Davan's - Shave for a Cure'

Last week we had a 'Wacky Hair Day'. Lots of the students came to school with all sorts of wacky and crazy hair designs. We were having our Wacky Hair Day to support Alani's mum and aunty with their fundraising for 'Shave for a Cure'.

Mrs Davan and her sister shaved their hair off yesterday to support Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. Our 'Wacky Hair Fundraising helped raise $300 towards their fundraising total. WOW!!!! Didn't they do well?

Kaiora's Writing - Mrs Davan is raising money  for cancer  and she is going to shave her hair. I gave some money to Mrs Davan to help her. We had a fun Wacky Hair Day at school.

Reo's Writing - Mrs Davan raised money for cancer with her sister. We had a Wacky Hair Day at school. Nico got pipe cleaners in his head. Whaea Deb got a spider in her head and got big eye’s on it.

  2. Te Manga, thank you for supporting myself and my sister to raise money for a cure. I enjoyed coming into school and seeing all your amazing, wacky, creative hairstyles!

We were so nervous shaving our hair. When Hillary Barry asked us questions, I couldn't stop laughing due to the nerves. Going in to town today was weird. I could see many people looking at us. But I know it was for a great cause, so I'm not too worried. I'm really looking forward to my hair growing a little bit.

Thanks again Whaea Deb, Te Manga and the rest of Paparore School! You guys rock!

  3. What a fun-tastic bunch we are. I loved seeing everyone dress up for such an amazing cause. It was very funny walking to school in my orange outfit. There were ever a few tamariki that didn't recognise me. Isn't our school amazing. I wonder what we will be doing next?
